Excel Recruitment has an excellent opportunity available for a Financial Reporting and Systems Accountant to join our clients a Semi-State organisation based in Dublin City Centre.

Our client a Semi-State Organisation based in Dublin City Centre are looking for an experienced Financial Reporting and Systems Accountant to join their team. The Financial Reporting and Systems Accountant will have a broad range of responsibilities within the Financial Reporting function, from assisting with all elements of internal and external financial reporting to managing the finance Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP), playing a key role in the continuous development of the system and processes, providing advice on how the system can respond effectively to internal and external changes.

Duties will include:

• Responsible for the finance system and processes to ensure effective and efficient processing of financial data.
• Leading out on the current upgrade of our client’s finance systems to Microsoft Dynamics 365 on behalf of finance, working with IT colleagues to ensure the upgrade is delivered in a timely manner and that all the benefits of the system are leveraged.
• Playing a key role in the continuous development and improvement of our client’s systems and processes and providing advice and expertise on how our client’s finance function can respond effectively to internal and external changes.
• Responsible for ensuring all users of the finance system receive the required training for their role.
• Testing any system changes on a quarterly basis in line with ERP provider’s release schedule
• Providing assistance to the Group Accountant with all aspects of internal and external financial reporting.

Requirements

• Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) typically with 5+ years relevant experience, including 2 years + experience in a finance systems and financial reporting related role(s).
• Experienced ERP user. Previous experience of Microsoft Dynamics would be a distinct advantage.
• Knowledge of best practices in finance related processes: procure to pay, order to cash, bank reconciliation, fixed asset management; month end and year end close, etc.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and word.
• Extensive decision making experience and an ability to prioritise conflicting deliverables
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Energetic, passionate and willing to challenge the status quo in the interests of delivering change
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team
