Duty Manager – Boutique Hotel | Kilkenny

I’m working with a beautiful boutique hotel in Kilkenny that is seeking an experienced Duty Manager to join their management team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional with a strong Food & Beverage background who enjoys being hands-on, guest-facing, and involved in the day-to-day running of a quality hotel operation.

As Duty Manager, you will oversee all hotel departments, with a particular focus on Food & Beverage operations, ensuring high service standards, smooth operations, and exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the hotel across Food & Beverage, Front Office, Accommodation, and Public Areas
• Act as the senior manager on duty, providing leadership and decision-making support
• Take a hands-on role in restaurant, bar, and function service, especially during busy periods
• Deliver excellent customer service and handle guest queries, feedback, and complaints professionally
• Ensure high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and service throughout the hotel
• Lead, motivate, and support hotel staff across multiple departments
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, HACCP, and fire safety procedures
• Assist with stock control, labour management, cash handling, and daily reports
• Support senior management with operational efficiency and service improvement

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Duty Manager, Assistant Manager, or Supervisor in a hotel or hospitality setting
• Strong Food & Beverage operational experience (restaurant & bar)
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lead teams and manage hotel operations under pressure
• Flexibility to work shift patterns including evenings and weekends
• Experience working in a boutique or luxury hotel
• Front Office experience or knowledge of hotel PMS systems
• Strong understanding of hotel service standards and compliance
