My client is Ireland’s leading food retailer whose success is built on the passion and dedication of their team. They are looking for a Commercial Manager to play a critical part in developing, implementing and managing pricing strategies to ensure the competitiveness of the company’s product range in the market. Location is flexible.

The responsibilities of a Commercial Manager include:

  • Lead company overall pricing strategy, ensuring it aligns with consumer sentiment and broader market trends.
  • Shape and implement price policies across store formats, using data modelling to guide decisions.
  • Work with the pricing analyst to monitor competitor pricing, identify risks and opportunities, and report key findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with retail partners and internal teams to strengthen relationships and ensure pricing accuracy and governance.
  • Manage pricing campaigns and respond strategically to competitor activity, working cross-functionally as needed.
  • Partner with Data Science and IT to improve pricing processes and enhance reporting insights.
  • Support strategic projects and represent Trading in forums, providing updates on value initiatives, pricing legislation, and retail market developments.

Requirements for Commercial Manager include:

  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a commercial role in a retail / FMCG environment with a track record of developing and delivering a commercial strategy and strong results
  • Strong experience working with mid-to-senior management and communicating effectively across all levels.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work.
  • Solid understanding of the Irish grocery retail market and commercial dynamics.
  • Advanced IT proficiency, especially in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Proven ability to turn consumer insights into commercially effective and market-leading strategies.
