Chef – Daytime hours

Excel Recruitment is delighted to announce we are seeking a Chef to join our client’s business based in Dublin south. This position consists of daytime hours only. My client is seeking chefs of all levels to join their team.

Salary package: DOE plus 26 days holidays, pension, staff discount and more.

Responsibilities of a Chef:

• Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales
• Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients
• Cook food in a timely manner
• Delegate tasks to kitchen staff and work in a friendly team environment
• Inform customers about daily specials
• Ensure appealing meal presentation
• Assist team members as needed
• Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)
• Monitor food stock/waste and place orders
• Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
• Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area (i.e., HACCP)

Requirements of a Chef:

• Previous experience as a Chef a
• Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment
• Advanced knowledge of culinary, baking and pastry techniques
• Leadership & organisation skills
• Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
• Excellent time management abilities
• Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
• Familiarity with sanitation regulations (HACCP)
• Culinary school diploma preferred
