Excel Recruitment is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join a prestigious 4-star hotel in Kildare. This is a great opportunity for a chef with strong leadership skills and a passion for cooking to play a key role in a busy, high-end kitchen.
Working closely with the Executive Head Chef, you’ll take a hands-on role in daily operations, ensuring top standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency across the hotel.

Requirements of the Sous Chef
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or higher in a quality restaurant or hotel kitchen
- Valid work permit with documentation
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills with great attention to detail
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Genuine passion for food, creativity, and keeping up to date with modern culinary trend
Responsibilities of the Sous Chef
- Support the Head Chef in the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Be actively involved in cooking, prep, and service during busy shifts
- Maintain the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
- Lead by example on the kitchen floor, training and mentoring junior chefs
- Contribute ideas to menus and daily specials
- Oversee food safety, hygiene, and HACCP compliance
- Manage stock control, ordering, and cost efficiency
