Assistant Manager -South Dublin

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic retail leader to join their store in South Dublin. Known for their wide array of creative crafts and stationery supplies this is suited to a supervisor or manager with an interest in creativity and looking to join a fun, service-oriented retail chain. In this hands-on role, you’ll nurture a collaborative and vibrant team, elevate customer experiences, and bring a warm, imaginative atmosphere for every visit.

Responsibilities:

  • Shared responsibility with the Store Manager for the profitability and efficient day-to-day operation of the store.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and manage store colleagues to build a high-performing team.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
  • Lead by example to deliver a consistently high standard of customer service across the store.
  • Drive performance to achieve and exceed agreed sales and margin targets.
  • Maintain exceptional store presentation, ensuring the premises always meet the highest company standards.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all required information to management and the Administration department.
  • Support management by contributing ideas and strategies to further develop and grow the business.
  • Act as a key point of contact, liaising effectively with centre management where required.
  • Undertake any additional duties reasonably assigned by senior management.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in retail management or a supervisory role, ideally within art, craft, lifestyle, or specialist retail.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to motivate, train, and support a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a genuine interest in art, creativity, and customer engagement.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including experience managing sales targets, margins, and basic financial reporting.
  • Ability to manage stock effectively, including ordering, merchandising, inventory control, and supplier liaison.
  • Strong visual merchandising skills, with attention to detail and an eye for presentation.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and the ability to ensure compliance within the store.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and multi-task.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for customer interaction and reporting to management.
