Contract Type: Agency Contract (with progression to permanent HSE position)
Contract Duration: Ongoing, service commencing immediately
Salary: Aligned with HSE Senior Dietitian Pay Scales

Excel Recruitment are recruiting a Senior Dietitian on behalf of a well supported Primarycare team in Tallaght. As this is a new service, there are no waiting lists currently in place, giving you the chance to establish and develop best practice from the outset.

The post will commence on an agency basis, with a view to progressing into a permanent HSE position.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Dietitian with experience and eager to level up into a Senior position.

Job Purpose:

The Senior Dietitian will lead the delivery of dietetic services for in the community. The role involves individual consultations, group education programmes, and working collaboratively with the Primary Care multidisciplinary team to provide holistic, family-focused care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist dietary assessments and personalised nutrition care plans for people with a wide range of clinical conditions.
  • Support children, adults and families with conditions such as faltering growth, food allergies/intolerances, coeliac disease, obesity, diabetes, and complex feeding difficulties.
  • Deliver group-based education sessions for families, supporting healthy eating and preventative care.
  • Actively contribute to service development, helping to shape the paediatric dietetic pathway from the ground up.
  • Work in close collaboration with GPs, Public Health Nurses, Speech & Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, OTs, and other members of the Primary Care team.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to junior staff or students as required.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, quality improvement initiatives, and evidence-based practice to ensure a high standard of care.

Requirements:

  • BSc/MSc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics (or recognised equivalent).
  • CORU registration as a Dietitian (essential).
  • 3 years post-qualification experience.
  • Proven skills in family-focused counselling and allergy management
  • Excellent communication, motivational, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Available to start work in 4-6 weeks.
