Excel Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Canteen Assistant – Front of House & Till Duties to join our busy temporary team in Cork.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent service to customers, operating the till, and ensuring a welcoming and efficient front-of-house experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and serve customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Prepare drinks – Hot & Cold
- Operate the till and handle cash/credit transactions accurately
- Ensure correct portioning and presentation of food items
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the dining and service areas
- Restock counters, condiments, and supplies as needed
- Support kitchen and catering staff during busy periods
- Comply with all food hygiene, health, and safety regulations
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role (canteen, cafe, or catering environment preferred)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Basic numeracy and cash-handling skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility and a team-oriented attitude
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards (desirable)
