Management Accountant

€55000 - €65000 Accounting & Finance Dublin, Dublin City Centre

Excel Recruitment is currently seeking a Management Accountant to join our client’s growing finance team, based in Dublin City Centre. This is a key role in a small but highly valued finance team, supporting the growth and strategic goals of three entities and multiple business streams.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and detail-oriented accounting professional, capable of leading the month-end close process, ensuring robust financial controls, and delivering insightful reporting to inform strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and payroll entries.
  • Prepare commission calculations and monthly management accounts with commentary and variance analysis.
  • Maintain strong balance sheet reconciliations across bank, payroll, VAT, and deferred income accounts.
  • Oversee pay and bill reconciliations, ensuring accuracy between timesheets, payroll, and client billing.
  • Drive continuous improvements across finance processes and control frameworks.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting.
  • Work closely with the Finance Director to build the team’s reporting and business partnering capability.
  • Support process automation and system enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Engage with auditors,ensuring compliance with accounting standards and timely completion of year-end audits.

Skills & Experience Required

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or finalist).
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a recruitment or service-based environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulae).
  • Familiarity with pay and bill systems and Access accounting software (advantageous).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • High level of initiative, intellectual curiosity, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Demonstrated integrity and accountability in financial management.
  • Full working rights in Ireland

In return

  • Salary €55,000-€65,000 DOE.
