Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership for the Store teams in all Operational, Commercial and Business duties. Oversee the management and control of all departments within the store regarding targets, labour and margin control
  • Manage Store workflow and activities, proper storage, inventory accuracy, reports and action to reduce loss
  • Manage the varying department’s requirements in terms of stock control, talent management, customer service delivery and department target achievement
  • Develop weekly reports outlining store performance, missed opportunities and plans to drive revenue /reduce costs across all departments
  • Stock control of all goods and production to minimise waste and maximise profit across store
  • Monthly meetings with each department to discuss the performance of the store and generate new revenue-producing ideas
  • Recruit, train and maintain talent within the store across each department.
  • Responsible for introducing and actioning the owners vision for the store and delivering quality service to customers in both retail and hospitality settings
  • Ensure the implementation and monitoring of all Food Safety, Health and Safety, and Operational procedures to ensure first-class standards across the store

Requirements:

  • Senior retail grocery and/ or hospitality experience – minimum 5 years
  • Expert understanding of related aspects of retail processes and/or systems e.g. planning, procurement, inventory, stock management, cash administration, labour management, HR requirements, commercial and customer relations
  • Able to manage resources and delegate appropriately to your team, including Department Management, Head Chefs and Team leaders
  • Expert understanding of ever-changing retail grocery, fresh food and hospitality landscapes
  • Experience with having P&L responsibility, budget management, and the ability to create and maintain various management reports.
  • Strong initiative and demonstrated ability to interface effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organisation and work cross-culturally
  • Strong conflict management and decision-making skills
